Ahoy! Lean Maritime celebrates 10 years of lean processes

With distance, but from the heart: Thank you and here's to the next 10 years!

Originally on lean-maritime.deTen years, ten thousand project days and savings in the three-digit million range: since November 2010, Lean Maritime GmbH has been helping its customers to make their work processes more efficient. Increasing productivity and reducing costs while improving quality - that is the aim of the Lean Maritime consultants and the sustainable success of their project organization. The consulting vision: efficient growth. Continuous improvement is the ongoing goal, achieved through innovative and pragmatic methods and approaches.

Review: Thinking craft in industrial processes

Ten years ago, Theo Herzog and his team swapped cars for ships. The former Porsche Consulting employees transferred the principles of lean series production to complex large-scale projects. The focus: the maritime industry, in particular the cruise industry. The consultants at Lean Maritime GmbH have optimized cruises along the entire value chain - from ship construction (shipyards) to terminal operations (ports) and service processes on board (shipping companies). But the consultants have also reorganized or successfully restructured suppliers, offshore projects, large-scale facilities and construction projects. Innovative concepts such as holistic KPI management in prototype construction or specially developed methods such as cycle planning and cycle control, the cabin train or value stream-oriented organization are among the achievements of Lean Maritime GmbH.

Outlook: Digitizing the maritime industry and organizing it in an agile way

Awarded as Top Consultants, the Lean maritime consultants continue to focus on constant innovation - including hybrid project management in the anniversary year 2020. It combines sustainable efficiency with rapid responsiveness and thus ensures an extremely robust project organization. Targeted digital applications, such as AI-supported planning of major projects or generally accessible ship financing through digital securities (tokenization), are expanding the portfolio of the Lean maritime consultants. Agile delivery organization and digitalized administrative processes accelerate the handling of complex undertakings. Crisis management, with which the consultants support high-risk major projects in the maritime industry, is also gaining in importance in the anniversary year.

With distance, but from the heart: Thank you and here's to the next 10 years!

The consultants' drive for innovation and action is now joined by the joy of ten successful years at Lean Maritime. "We would like to thank our customers and employees for what we have achieved together over the past ten years," says Theo Herzog, Managing Director of Lean Maritime GmbH. "For the outstanding commitment of our consultants, ninety percent of whom were active abroad, and for the trust that our customers have continued to place in us. We look forward to the next ten years of joint success through strategic efficiency."
